Frequently Asked Questions
Why was Wolf Run started? It was not long after being drawn to the present property that both Stan and Toni Newcombe learned about a local Pagan Pride Day event where protesters had tried to disrupt the day. It was ...then at that moment that the Newcombe's had realized why they had been given the opportunity to be stewards of the land. It was with this stewardship that they created a place where anyone of any faith, can go to as long as they have peace in their hearts and an open mind.
Are only Pagans welcomed at the WRWSS farm? No, while the majority of people who visit the farm are Pagan, anyone with an open mind and peace in their heart are welcome.
How did Wolf Run get it's name? The name Wolf Run Wildlife and Spiritual Sanctuary (WRWSS) is a 10 acre farm that is presently the home of the Newcombe family. Stan Newcombe, also known by many as Grey Wolf, was shown his present path as a child by his spirit guide which was a beautiful silver wolf. It was Stan's connection to this wolf that he later adopted the name Grey Wolf and, when the opportunity arose to start the sanctuary, Stan decided to name it Wolf Run in part to his deep connection with not only the wolf, but also in part to the trails (or run) which are located on the property.
Are there any wolves at Wolf Run? Due to the name and the energy connected to the property, as well as its caregivers, the spirit of the wolf can be felt there; however, since Wolf Run is on a small 10 acre farm that is adjacent family homes and farmlands, it is not possible to keep wolves upon the property at this time. However, there are numerous prairie wolves (also known as coyotes), which can be heard in the night, living within the area.
Is Wolf Run Non-profit? Yes, as of May 2010 Wolf Run Wildlife and Spiritual Sanctuary was listed with the IRS as a 501c3 Public Charity.
